About The Academy

At The JPA Academy we believe that self-confidence is one of the most important skills a young person can have, and we aim to develop this for each individual student, while nurturing talent and encouraging teamwork and friendship.

We run morning and afternoon workshops every Saturday at the Camden Centre, right in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.

Morning School 9am-12pm

Afternoon School 2pm-5pm

Every student will study an hour of acting, an hour of singing and an hour of dancing in age groups of 5-7, 8-11 and 12-18 years.

West End Workshops are run twice-termly with guest artists from current West End theatre. Our students will have the opportunity to learn real numbers from shows such as Wicked, Billy Elliot, We Will Rock You and Les Misérables by artists who have performed in them.

Students will perform in our shows twice a year, with a full-scale production in the summer term and a smaller concert at Christmas.

We are attached to a successful children’s agency, regularly securing work for our students in West End theatre, TV, adverts and feature films. Every child at The JPA Academy will have the opportunity to join this agency and be submitted for auditions. View more information on the agency.

We are passionate about performing and we encourage our students to be as well. It is through this shared passion that children can have fun, make new friends and of course, develop their talent. Our unique programme will prepare them for the rest of their lives, whether they choose to go into in performing or any other career.

Our team of professionals — all of whom are experienced performers themselves, appearing in everything from West End shows and concerts to TV and film — are dedicated to teaching the skills they have perfected over years in the business.
